This Month at Disney World – August 2018

There are always new and exciting things happening at Disney World. Here are some things we are looking forward to this month.

Rivers of Light Dessert Party (starting August 6th)

In what seems like the never-ending introduction of add ons, Rivers of Light, the night show at Animal Kingdom is getting it’s own dessert party.

Similar to the fireworks dessert parties at the Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios, you’ll get to view Rivers of Light from a reserved area and an hour at a dessert (and app) buffet plus beverages. For a cost of course.

This new party will be nightly starting August 6th. It will cost $79 for adults and $47 for children, in addition to park admission. Tickets available here.

This Month at Disney World – June 2018

There are always new and exciting things happening at Disney World.  Here are some things we are looking forward to this month.

Toy Story Land (opens June 30th)

The biggest thing happening this month happens the last day of the month.  Toy Story Land is opening in Hollywood Studios on June 30th.

If you will be at Disney World a bit earlier in the month, keep an eye out. There may be soft openings, where you can see parts of the land or ride before the official opening.

Toy Story Land is bringing 2 new rides to Hollywood Studios – Slinky Dog Dash Roller Coaster and Alien Swirling Saucers.  Don’t worry though, Toy Story Mania isn’t going anywhere.  It will be incorporated into the new land.

The premise to Toy Story Land is that you shrink to the size of a toy and play in Andy’s backyard with characters from the movies.

This Month at Disney World – April 2018

There are always new and exciting things happening at Disney World. Here are some things we are looking forward to this month.

Animal Kingdom’s 20th Anniversary Celebration (April 22-May 5)

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Animal Kingdom. Does that make anyone else feel old? No, just me. Okay, moving on.

The anniversary celebration begins on Earth Day, April 22nd, so Disney is expanding their Party for the Planet to include a welcome celebration, special PhotoPass opportunities, special merchandise, backstage experiences, and festival food and beverages (rumors are there will be kiosks like the Epcot festivals).

There is also a new behind the scenes tour that includes getting up-close and personal with elephants. Or if fancy food is more your style, Imagineers, animal care and conservation cast members will be hosting dinners at Tiffins.

The Party starts on April 22nd and continues through May 5.

Curious about what a Disney anniversary looks like and tips to enjoy it, check out the recap of Epcot’s 35th here.
