This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Animal Kingdom. Does that make anyone else feel old? No, just me. Okay, moving on.
The anniversary celebration begins on Earth Day, April 22nd, so Disney is expanding their Party for the Planet to include a welcome celebration, special PhotoPass opportunities, special merchandise, backstage experiences, and festival food and beverages (rumors are there will be kiosks like the Epcot festivals).
There is also a new behind the scenes tour that includes getting up-close and personal with elephants. Or if fancy food is more your style, Imagineers, animal care and conservation cast members will be hosting dinners at Tiffins.
The Party starts on April 22nd and continues through May 5.
Curious about what a Disney anniversary looks like and tips to enjoy it, check out the recap of Epcot’s 35th here.
Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival (all month)
There are always new and exciting things happening at Disney World. Here are some things we are looking forward to this month.
Epcot Festival of the Arts (thru Feb. 19)
The newest Epcot festival began last month and continues through February 19th. This celebration of the arts – visual, performance, and of course (because this is an Epcot festival) culinary – has been a hit with guests since it started last year.
Welcome to Adventures of a Disney Nerd Blog. You are in the right place if you are looking for tips, tricks, planning ideas, stories, and other random thoughts to help plan your next Disney World Adventure. I love planning Disney trips, and of course I love visiting Disney World.
Trips to Disney World have been a longstanding tradition in my family and I’m the planner in chief. Living in the Tampa Bay area, I get plenty of opportunity to visit the parks. Rather than keep everything all my Disney adventures bottled up, I want to share it with you all.
For those who have friends or family who haven’t been touched by the Disney magic yet, have no fear. Mickey, my partner in crime, is the resident curmudgeon here at the Disney Nerd abode, so I have plenty of experience and adventures planned around even those who aren’t Disney’s biggest fans.
I try to be objective and give lots of options, but ultimately all of the opinions on this site are my own (other than those occasional Mickey opinions). In planning Disney trips and staying up on everything Disney World related I couldn’t do it without a number of blogs out there – Disney Tourist Blog, Easy WDW, and Disney Food Blog, among others. Please be aware, I am not affiliated with Disney in any way. I am also not a travel agent.
Everyone has their own take on things, so please let me and everyone else knows yours. I want this site to answer your Disney related questions (for life the universe and everything questions I highly recommend Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy), so please email me or comment with any questions you have. Check us out on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. I love hearing your Disney adventures.
